Grandma's and Grandpa's
famous rusks are made in the traditional way
that grandma used to make them and -with their special tastiness
-they nostalgically remind you of the past. Grandma's
rusks are your favourites and this is made
obvious by the demand that there is for them.
The aroma of natural aniseed, combined
with the additional spices, give us the aniseed rusk
with the exciting taste. The mastic, the main flavour in the
aromatic rusks, gives a special and enjoyable
taste to it. Both are available as small rolls and toasts.
For our younger friends -and not just
them -we offer tasty delights with our mini "glistarkes"
(grid-like, crusty, sesame rusks) and our "gkritsinakia",
made with the purest of materials and packed in impressive wrappers.
Their light taste and their convenient
packaging are there to help you any time and moment you want
to enjoy the irresistible salty rusks and gkritsinia.
The whole meal rusks
are offered for healthy nourishment and a proper diet. They
are made in the traditional manner with whole meal flour, a
product of our old-fashioned Water Mill. The wonderful taste
the divine aroma of wheat will conquer and enchant you. The
bran containing rusk, compared to other bakery items,
has less calories and has a rich malt-like taste.
The barley rusk stands
out for being low fat and its richness in fiber, which are necessary
for the better function of the intestines. It is available as
a roll or a taco. Dipped in olive oil and escorted by tomato,
fetta-cheese, and oregano, they are a special gustatory pleasure
for any time of the day.
Breakfast is necessary and so we suggest
the plain toast, which is tasty and filling,
able to keep you going for several hours.
The traditional bread roll -the large one -reminds one of the
good old days when it was kneaded in the house, both young and
older persons waiting for it to come out of the oven steaming.
The -so called -"arkatis",
a renowned yeast of Cyprus, is made out of the froth of chick-peas
and other spices. The traditional arkatena
are made with it.
The diet arkatena are made in the same way,
though using whole meal flour and barn.
